The XLerate -4X QSFP + FDR cable requires a total bandwidth of up to 56Gb / s in application, exceeding the capacity of the QDR QSFP+ cable, which provides a total bandwidth of 40Gb / s with a 10Gb / s signal rate per channel. FCI 's XLerate -4X QSFP + FDR cable can be used for direct connection copper (DAC) and active fiber optic cable.

The XLerate -4X QSFP + cable increases linear PCB board port signal density to meet emerging industry bandwidth requirements of 56 Gb/s per port as defined by the infinite bandwidth QDR and FDR standards. The connector interface and EEPROM are fully compliant with the SFF-8436 specification, and these QSFP+ cables provide up to four times the port bandwidth of SFP+ systems. The XLerate -4X QSFP+ family is ideal for high-end transaction processing systems typically used in data center, networking and high performance computing applications.

The XLerate -4X QSFP+ series includes SMT 38-bit edge card connectors (10Gb compatible), PCB-mounted EMI metal boxes, die-cast heat sinks with snap-fits, and copper-based passive and active fiber optic cable assemblies.
