STMicroelectronics (ST; New York Stock Exchange: STM), the world's leading semiconductor supplier across multiple electronic applications, announces its LSM6DSL 6-axis inertial sensing and LPS22HB pressure sensors through the Ali IoT (IoT) ecosystem System verification allows users to develop integrated IoT nodes and gateway solutions in less time.

AliOS Things, released last year, is a lightweight embedded operating system developed by Alibaba for IoT applications. Recently, Ali released AliOS Things v1.2, adding a sensor-based component called uData. The STMicroelectronics sensor with AliOS certification is integrated into uData. The two parties are working together to develop an Internet of Things system to enhance the end user experience.

The LSM6DSL is a system-in-package with built-in 3D digital accelerometers and 3D gyroscopes. The high-performance mode consumes only 0.65 mA and delivers always-on low-power features for the best motion detection experience. Excellent mechanical shock resistance makes the LSM6DSL the preferred sensor for system designers to develop reliable products. LSM6DSL supports major operating system requirements with hardware, virtual and batch sensor capabilities, providing up to 4KB of cache space for dynamic data batching.

The LPS22HB is an ultra-compact piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor that can be used as a digital output barometer with a dust- and water-repellent design for high precision and low power consumption. The injection molded package is equipped with a silicon cap and six 20μm holes, ensuring the sensor's moisture resistance, 0.1 mbar pressure measurement accuracy and very low power consumption (ie 12μA in low noise mode).

Collins Wu, Marketing Manager, Analog Devices and MEMS Products, Greater China and South Asia, said. “The acquisition of Ali certification by STMicroelectronics LSM6DSL and LPS22HB sensors is a huge success. The comprehensive AliOS platform helps equipment manufacturers to quickly and reliably create and connect IoT nodes and shorten product development cycles in domestic smartphones and smart watches. Rapid development of IoT systems in applications such as smart door locks and smart parking lots. In addition, Ali has also worked closely with STMicroelectronics to integrate more STMicroelectronics products into this platform to provide customers with an attractive Internet of Things. solution."
