Recently, according to the US Chemical Weekly report, General Display Company and printed electronics manufacturer Plextronics have signed a strategic alliance to use Plextronics' hole injection, hole transport materials and general-purpose display company's phosphorescent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) light-emitting layer. The combination of materials accelerates the development and commercialization of solution-based OLED material systems. The two companies have signed a three-year joint development agreement, and Universal Display has spent $4 million.
Previously, Plextronics worked closely with General Display to develop Universal Display's universal P2OLED platform and develop the original Plexcore HIL product. The head of General Display Company said that the universal P2OLED printable phosphorescent OLED material system is combined with Plextronics' hole injection and transport materials to develop a high-performance, solution-based OLED material system for inkjet , nozzles and other potential cost benefits, as well as solving manufacturing techniques.
