1. Overview of ERP Energy Efficiency Directives and Implementation Measures (1194/2012)
On October 21, 2009, the European Union promulgated the Framework for Ecodesign Requirements for Energy-Related Products (2009 /125 /EC) to replace the old 2005/32 /EC Directive, thereby extending the product range from energy-consuming products (EUP: Energy - using products) Expanded to all energy-related products (ERP), the new version is referred to as the ERP directive.

Like the LVD and EMC directives, the ERP directive is also included in the EU CE system. Therefore, the products involved in the relevant implementation measures must be considered before the export to Europe, and the CE mark must be attached. 2. Design requirements for LED lighting control devices (drive power supplies) in the ERP directive
2.1 Time period of the implementation rules
Each eco-design requirement should be applied according to the following phases: Phase 1: September 1, 2013 Phase II: September 1, 2014 Phase III: September 1, 2016.
2.2 Energy efficiency requirements for luminaire control devices
(a) From the second stage, the no-load power consumption of the luminaire control unit shall not exceed 1.0W. "No-load mode" refers to the environment of the luminaire control unit. In this environment, the input of the luminaire control unit is connected to the supply voltage, but its output is disconnected from all main loads, and this disconnect is a normal operation. (b) From the third stage, the no-load power consumption limit should be 0.5W. For the luminaire control device, if the output power (P) exceeds 250W, the control device's no-load power consumption limit should be multiplied by P/250W.
"Standby mode" is one of the modes of the control device of the luminaire, which is turned off by a control signal during normal operating conditions. This mode is for control devices with built-in switch function and is permanently connected to the supply voltage during normal use.
2.3 LED lamp (built-in LED drive power ) power factor requirements
Since the first phase:
P ≤ 2 W: no requirement
W < P ≤ 5 W: PF > 0.4
5W < P ≤ 25 W: PF > 0.5
P > 25 W: PF > 0.9
2.4 LED lamps (built-in LED driver power supply) startup time requirements
Starting from the first phase, the start-up time needs to be less than 0.5 seconds. "Light start time": The time it takes for the luminaire to start fully and keep the light on after the power supply voltage is turned on. See the following illustration for details: T1 is the startup time. But the startup time also includes the response time of the LED module.
