Compared with SRD, HDR can avoid the high light overflow under the BT.709 color gamut standard and solve the problem of insufficient dark areas. Simply put, in short, SDR-to-HDR changes, regardless of the processing technology, but the upper limit of the brightness normally displayed in the original image information is greatly increased. If 1080P to 4K are resolution upgrades, then HDR is a big upgrade in brightness, color gamut, contrast, and color range. It's no wonder that manufacturers are focusing on HDR.

It can be seen that the HDR effect is very good, but there are still some problems with HDR at this stage. The main ones are the mainstream specifications of Dolby Vision and HDR10. Most entry-level TVs choose HDR10, because they are cheap and they do not pick the source. The Dolby Vision starts from the source and can perform frame-by-frame rendering of the picture, so it works best.
On the other hand, the higher the HDR TV brightness is, the higher the backlight brightness is, the higher the color gamut is.
