Gildas Sorin, CEO of Novaled AG, which is engaged in OLED R&D and IP supply in Germany, expressed his views on the recent development of OLEDs.

Novaled first considered the application of low-voltage drive PIN-type OLEDs in the field of lighting. OLED lighting will set off a design revolution. In addition to the surface illumination of the ceiling, it can also be used as a lighting for personal use, that is, a transparent bottom plate is embedded in the window so that it can emit light according to the design ratio inside and outside the window, which can effectively prevent voyeurism. It also features low power consumption and no mercury. Although LED lighting also has low power consumption and no mercury, the two do not constitute a competitive relationship. Because OLED lighting is mainly used for environmental lighting purposes.

At present, the brightness of OLED can reach 40lm/W on average. Although the brightness of the fluorescent lamp is 80 to 90 lm/W, 30 to 60% of energy loss occurs due to the shielding of the lighting fixture. OLED lighting reduces the losses caused by the appliance.

We are currently working on the OLED100.eu project with a goal of 100 lm/W. OLLA (OLED for Large Area) is a development project jointly developed by Novaled and 24 European companies between 2004 and 2008. These companies have been streamlined to four, and as the OLED100.eu project, projects that double the luminous efficiency are currently being promoted. The goal is to achieve a luminous efficiency of 100 lm/W in 2011. If this goal is achieved, the electricity consumption in the lighting sector, which accounts for 20% of electricity consumption, will be reduced to half.

Novaled has an IP PIN structure OLED with no transport layer. It consists of a P-layer, an intrinsic layer, and an n-layer 3-layer structure. Therefore, the PIN structure has the characteristics of being able to thin the overall layer structure and having a low driving voltage. Other methods require an 18-layer structure. As time goes by, the driving voltage of OLEDs tends to increase. The PIN structure is easy to maintain the initial low voltage. In addition, since the number of layers is small, not only the light reflection between the layers is reduced, but also the luminous efficiency is improved.

OLED lighting will set off a design revolution. Previously, lighting standards were used by lighting companies and designed by the appliance company. In the future, the method of consultation between the two sides will be adopted. In addition to glass, the base plate can also use metal. The metal is not only physically stable, but also has good heat dissipation. In addition, lighting fixtures of various shapes can be produced. Our PIN structure technology is also suitable for metal backplanes. We are also working to solve the problem of the bottom plate. Previously, there was a phenomenon that the luminescent layer was damaged due to the defect of the substrate, and a substrate manufacturing technique for this defect has been developed.

Also expected to be used in displays

It is expected to be applied to OLED displays. For example, AU Optronics Corp. suspended the development of OLED displays three years ago, and then re-developed it in 2008, and various panel makers have started development. The industry's attention to OLED displays has not decreased. Since 70% of the TFT investment in the liquid crystal panel can be borrowed, a display that is both inexpensive and high quality can be realized in the future.

OLED displays will eliminate the need for polarizers, various films and backlights. However, we hope that the film manufacturer can make a new film that can take out light instead of the polarizer. At present, 70% of the light cannot be irradiated to the outside. We are very much looking forward to such technological achievements.

If a Micro Coreless Motor is used outside the prescribed temperature range,the grease on the gearhead area will become unable to function normally and the motor will become unable to start.Depending on the temperature conditions ,it may be possible to deal with them by changing the grease of the motor's parts.Please feel free to consult with us about this.


Storage temperature range:

Hollow cup motor should be stored ta a temperature of -15~65℃.

In case of storage outside this range,the grease on the gearhead area will become unable to function normally and the motor will become unable to start.


Service life:

The longevity of hollow cup motor is greatly affected by the load conditions , the mode of operation,the environment of use ,etc.Therefore,it is necessary to check the conditions under which the product will actually be used .The following conditions will have a negative effect on longevity.Please consult with us should any of them apply.
