Overview

The MAX14842 is capable of digital signal conversion between two reference ground potentials up to 72V. The device integrates six communication channels: two bidirectional channels and four unidirectional channels. Four unidirectional channels provide two channels in each direction. The device is powered by two power supplies that define the logic levels relative to their respective ground planes.

The MAX14842's four unidirectional channels support data rates up to 30Mbps, and the two bidirectional channels support 2Mbps data rates. The bidirectional channel provides an open-drain output for I2C signals. The bidirectional channel supports I2C clock expansion and hot swap.

Undervoltage lockout ensures that the output pin has a defined action on power-up, power-down, and power supply changes. It must be guaranteed that 0V ≤ (VGNDB - VGNDA) ≤ 72V to keep the device in normal operation. Note that GNDB must be greater than or equal to GNDA.

The MAX14842 is available in a 16-pin TQFN package and operates over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range.
