MEGATRO 115KV SC tension and transmission steel tubular pole
MEGATRO 115KV SC tension and transmission steel tubular pole project is 1.25 miles long and was designed to support 795 kcmil ACSR Drake with conductors on wood and tubular steel poles. A portion of the line was designed for 12.47-kV underbuild conductors transferred from an existing pole line that was replaced by this project.
The design allows the existing substation on the east side of the plant to be switched between an existing MEGATRO 115KV SC tension and transmission steel tubular pole project and the newly constructed 115-kV circuit. Future expansion plans were incorporated into the design.
TriAxis directed the site survey to assure clearances from all plant activities and to position poles according to county and Army Corp of Engineers permits. TriAxis directed a geotechnical investigation and designed steel pole foundations to resist settling or leaning in uncompacted fill along the river embankment.

MEGATRO 115KV SC tension and transmission steel tubular pole project DESIGN
This project included the design and specifications for replace-ment of five existing wood poles with self-supporting tubular steel poles adjacent to a new sub-station. All poles were designed for 115-kV transmission, 12.47-kV three-phase, 4-wire under-build, and a 3/8-inch EHS shield wire. All poles were designed for direct embedment.
The line was designed to support 556 AAC Dahlia con-ductors for both transmission and distribution underbuild. The first pole out on each side of the substation was designed for an underground feeder riser.
PLS-CADD was used in line design including the development of structure models and production of plan and profile drawings. TriAxis services included steel pole shop drawings review, stringing charts, construction unit assembly drawings, and staking sheets.

WILLOW CREEK 115-KV
The MEGATRO 115-kV overhead transmission line is 8.5 miles long and was built with single-wood-pole structures and braced-post insulator assemblies. The conductor is one 795 kcmil Drake ACSR and the line has one 48-fiber optic shield wire (OPGW). All angle poles are self-supported tubular steel (no guys or anchors). There were 17 line angles through a pivot irrigation farm. TriAxis determined the environmental structural loadings for this project and prepared the preliminary and final design of the project. Basic structure configurations were determined, along with pole heights, strengths, embedments, design guys and anchors to support the structures. TriAxis used PLS-CADD for plan and profile design. TriAxis services included specifications, bid document preparation, and services during construction.

And it helps to reduce on-site construction cost due to mismatched assemblies. MEGATRO 115KV DC tension towers systems can accommodate a variety of cross-arm and other accessories. After fabrication all 115KV DC tension towers are delivered to the galvanizing facility to be Hot DIP Galvanized. Towers are processed through the facility by Caustic Cleaning, Pickling, and then Fluxing. These strict procedures insure years of maintenance free towers. Even we take secondary finish for client again, which as duplex surface treatment.  Â
