OLEDNet Releases 2010-2016 OLED Display Market Report
According to OLEDNET's report, SMD is currently the largest AMOLED production company, currently producing 2.2-3.2 inches of AMOLED panels, mainly for mobile phones.
LG Electronics also launched 2.2-inch and 3.0-inch AMOLED panels and established the largest AMOLED production line. They released the largest AMOLED TV on the market in 2009.
The AMOLED produced by CMEL is 2.0 inches to 7.6 inches. Currently, it is mainly used in mobile devices. 7.6 inches of AMOLED panels are used in electronic photo frames.
Sony had already released 11-inch AMOLED TVs as early as in 2008, but it announced its withdrawal from the Japanese market in early 2010 after one year in the market.
The report also pointed out that SMD will produce 5.0-inch and 7.0-inch AMOLED panels in 2010. LG Display (LGD) will produce 2.7-inch and 4.3-inch AMOLED panels for digital cameras and portable TVs in 2010. It will also produce 3.0-inch WQVGA AMOLED and 3.5-inch WVGA AMOLED panels for mobile phones. Toshiba, Matsushita and Hitachi will launch 20-40 inch OLED TV panels in 2011.
It is expected that the AMOLED industry will mass-produce small and medium-sized AMOLED panels for mobile devices in 2010. Samsung will have the ability to produce 46-inch or more OLED panels by 2010.
