Japanese watchmaker SEIKO recently launched the disaster prevention clocks KX329B and KX330P, which contain white led light source. When the 3-4 earthquake occurs, the sensor will automatically light for about 5 minutes after detection, in order to facilitate escape. In addition, the built-in light source sensor automatically stops the operation of the second hand to save power when the room is too dark.
SEIKO pointed out that this series of products uses five 3AAA dry batteries. Under normal conditions, the battery life is about one year (30 lights, about 5 minutes each time), and the price is 12,600-14,700 yen (about 4,410-5,145 NT dollars). It is expected to be launched in October 2009 with a sales target of 10,000 a year.
