The exposure time refers to the time when the CCD of the image pickup device image sensor is exposed to light. The longer the exposure time, the more light that enters the CCD, but it will reduce the image acquisition speed and may make the moving subject image more blurred. The setting of exposure time is closely related to the following items:
1. The total speed of the detected object. For high-speed objects, shorten the exposure time to minimize image blur.
2. Total detection rate (number of objects/min). When the total detection rate is high, the exposure time should be as short as possible.
3. Available light sources. Irrespective of whether a high-power flash source or backlight is used, the exposure time must be set according to the light source.
Normally, the exposure time is inversely proportional to the brightness of the image. When both the exposure time and the brightness of the image need to be shortened, the following measures can be taken:
(1). Strengthen the light intensity of the detection area.
(2). Increase CCD gain. Increasing the gain makes the CCD more sensitive to light. High gain settings may cause granular images that affect sensitivity detection.
