What can loop analysis do?
In the switching power supply and op amp feedback network, the loop analysis can measure the gain and phase of the system as a function of frequency (Bode diagram), analyze the gain margin and phase margin of the system to determine the stability of the system; In the impedance analysis of passive devices, loop analysis can observe the high-frequency impedance curve of capacitance and inductance, and measure capacitance ESR. Previously these tests were done with expensive professional loop analyzers, and now an oscilloscope is enough!
The test principle of loop analysis is mainly to inject a sinusoidal signal with a frequency change into the switching power supply circuit, measure the characteristics of the switching power supply in the frequency domain, and determine whether the loop is stable by analyzing the gain margin and the phase margin, which can be an electronic engineer.
